The other side of Detroit

I spent the last weekend urban exploring in Detroit.  This is something that has been on my bucket list for such a long time!  I have some sort of infatuation with old things in general.  Old windows, doors, chairs, houses.... the list goes on and on.  I have seen thousands of photos from some of the ruins of what used to be amazing works of architectural art, and have since, wanted to see it all for myself.

I'm sure I took well over 200 pictures.  What a surreal sight, and feeling, and at the same time, quite peaceful really.  It was a gorgeous day for the beginning of February in Michigan, about 45 degrees and very sunny.

The only sounds were the wind blowing through the broken windows, over the top of the missing roof and through the building sized corridors that were once, actual, whole buildings, now just large open spaces in between what remains.  Birds singing, echoes of water dripping.

So here is one, for now.  I have a lot of photos to go through still, but I will have more up here soon!

A humble attempt at HDR...

Remember this gorgeous couple?!  I had the pleasure of capturing their love for eachother during their engagement shoot last fall.  Such a happy, fun loving couple!
